Description
Our client (Oceanlux) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Managers for construction of Superyacht new builds.
As a lead project manager working to represent the end client, the successful Candidate will be responsible for keeping the projects Schedule and Quality within contract agreement.
The scope covers involvement in the yachts design process through to yacht delivery. You will be involved in initial sales discussions concepts, design finalisation, involvement in contract negotiation through to monitoring on-site build, maintaining schedule and quality.
Qualifications:
- PMP qualification (highly desirable)
- Process Engineering / Six Sigma (desirable)
- Diploma, Degree or Masters Degree Education
- Technical Apprenticeship / Training (desirable)
Experience:
- 6+ years experience in project management (in an international field)
- Or 6+ years marine industry (design, engineering, project management)
- Excellent reading, writing & communication skills
- Excellent IT skills, familiar with MS Project, MS suite software
- Be pro-active, smart, results thinking attitude
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an intimate knowledge of the Project Scope (Contracted specification)
- Maintain the Project Timeline, requesting and distributing information in a timely manner to ensure that full compliance with the Contract parameters & milestones are achieved
- Liaise with build centre management, contractors and subcontractors
- Monitor all material specifications in accordance with Flag, Class and Classification Society requirements, with special consideration to Structural and Fire and Safety directives
- Monitor submittal of all change requests or proposals for change (project impacts to original schedule) known as AWR’s (our requests for change) and proposed internal Production Change Order Requests (PCOR's) and subsequent Production Change Orders (PCO's), ensuring that timelines and quality are adhered to
- Manage impact of all variations and their subsequent impact, ensuring that timelines and quality are adhered to with the build manufacturer and project team
- Maintain an oversight of the in-house planning, designs and manufacture
- Maintain an oversight of the on-site installation
- Monitor and manage our Client/Build Yard/Owner interfaces.
- Responsible for the timely input of project data to Head Office
- Identify risks at an early stage of the project thus avoiding delays
- Record continuous improvement initiatives in respect to SQCD (safety, quality, cost and delivery) of the project
- Debrief Oceanlux and Yacht Manufacturer at critical phases and post project in reference to continuous improvement; lessons learned and improvements in future designs or build phases
- Consistently keep conversed / abreast of market trends and construction methods
- The chosen candidate shall at all time present themselves, in the best light as a representative of our Client and act in our Client's best interest

- Accommodation (at project)
- Transportation
- 20 days annual leave
